Attendance is more than simply being at school each day. Arriving on time and remaining at school for the full instructional day matters too. Late arrivals and early checkouts mean missed instructional time. While a few minutes here or there may not seem significant, those minutes accumulate over time and can quickly add up to hours, and eventually days, of lost learning.

 

Our instructional day begins promptly at 8:00 AM. Whenever possible, please schedule appointments and other commitments outside of the school day and help us ensure your Bobcat is here, on time, and ready to learn each day.

 

📝 New for 2026 to 2027

Please note an important update to our attendance procedures:

• Parent Notes: Families may submit parent or guardian notes to excuse up to 5 days per semester for qualifying absences.
• After 5 Days: Any additional illness related absences during the semester will require documentation from a medical provider to be considered excused.
• Returning to School: Written documentation must be submitted on the day your child returns to school.

 

📌 Important Attendance Reminders

• After 3 unexcused absences, families will receive notification from the school.
• By 6 unexcused absences, additional notification and attendance intervention are required.
• At 10 unexcused absences, additional action is required under North Carolina compulsory attendance requirements.
