Congratulations to Ms. Lewis' first grade class for winning our chapter one trivia question! Benvenue Elementary is reading the Lemonade War by Jacqueline Davies as a whole K-5 school. Every first through five grader received a chapter book of their own to follow along and take home to reread the chapter we read in school each night. Thank you DeLeon Carter Foundation for funding our grant for our "One Book, One School."

Ms. Jones' Kindergarten class had a special guest reader while enjoying their snack Tuesday morning. Mrs. Shelia Wallace, NCPS Executive Director of Human Resources & Federal Programs stopped by to read the students "Love You Forever" by Robert Munsch. The students enjoyed this heartwarming story. They shared stories with Mrs. Wallace of how their moms told them she loved them and rocked them when they were younger. We would like to thank Mrs. Wallace for taking time to read to our students.
